Truck Driver

Salary: $35 per hour

Job requirements

Languages: English

Education: High School

Experience: 3 + years of Truck Driving experience

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid Driver’s Licence

Work Location Information: Relocation costs not covered by employer

Personal Suitability: Flexibility, Organized, Excellent oral communication, Reliable, Judgment

Communication System Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Trip recorder (on-board computer)

Documentation Knowledge: Accident or incident reports, Dangerous goods occurrence, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Bill of landing, Driver logbook

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Load and unload goods, Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations, Receive and relay information to central dispatch, Perform brake adjustments, Perform emergency roadside repairs, Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption, Perform preventive maintenance

Transportation/Travel Experience: Local, National, Long-haul, Regional, Provincial/territorial

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer A train, Tractor-trailer, Extended length tractor-trailer combination

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks), Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
